On Thursday's issue of Urban Straits Times, the feature was on "pretty mixed up". It says that "when it comes to the world of modelling, being mixed is the flavour du jour, thanks to delectable hybrids like Jon Jonsson".
For those who are clueless who he is, he is the winner of the American reality series, Manhunt: the search For American's Most Georgeous Male Model. And basically, Jonsson is the "next big thing" due to his exotic looks derived from an Icelandic father and a Thai mother. He beat the "corn-fed, blue-eyed, blond American beefcakes" to clinch a contract with the top model agency. Following the rise of pop sensation Tata young, he is the latest pretty mixed-race face. As I was surfing through the net for his pics, I came across a comment "he is the reason why US needs stalking laws".
Well, i believed these exotic faces have the upperhand as they can appeal to both worlds - the pacific as well as caucasian countries. Due to their mixed heritage, they have the advantage of being "global" or "international" instead of being "stereotype as another white boy".
For some eye candy.. introducing tata young...

and jon jonsson..

indeed he has a great body, but he looks like a typical Thai-American.. I mean, most of them look just as good.
Guess a question that crosses most people's minds now is "so are mixed marriages the way to go if you want your kid to rise a few rungs in the looks ladder"
Actually, the answer is pretty obvious. No, because a person's appearance boils down to genes and their random selection.
A doctor who was interviewed, said "the assumption that a Thai-caucasian mix will produce the best lookers in the world borders almost on racism"
Another adds that one is most likely to find mixed-race people who are not blessed in the looks apartment
On a local scale, i think that chidians (chinese-indians) mostly possessed great looks. nice eyes, sharp nose, fairer skin..
My class had our own share of a male model fashion show.. here are some pics [credits to ben chong] sorry i think some photos are quite blur.. don't know why
